By: Whittle Programmed Painting Whittle Programmed Painting is part of the Hankinson Painting Group and since 2003 has consistently supported and produced growth within the Education Sector through its involvement with ISBA. They have been able to establish long term relationships with many business leaders and provide delegates and schools with a unique and cost efficient method of maintaining their property and buildings. Over the period they have been associated with ISBA they have demonstrated tangible cost savings against traditional ad-hoc methods for building maintenance. They believe some delegates may not be aware of their concept, and so have chosen to become a Headline Sponsor this year in order to “spread the word”. Whittle pioneered the concept of long-term maintenance painting with structured payments and have over 500 programmes throughout the UK including many independent schools where appearance to existing and future parents and pupils is paramount. Premises are kept protected and looking fresh throughout the programme while giving the certainty of an agreed annual cost structure. The custom-designed programmes typically last 5 years with an initial repaint in year 1 and annual servicing thereafter. The programmes are tailored to suit the requirements of the building, environment and customers’ needs. They can work on part of a building, the complete asset or multiple facilities. Clive Button was Bursar at Birkenhead School in Wirral who have a long term maintenance agreement. He says “we have a large campus with buildings of every age, from listed mid-Victorian to contemporary. With full repaints every five years and interim attention as necessary, I know (the buildings) will always look at their best. We have excellent building presentation and protection without the need for regular tender exercises and contractor supervision” End
