Saint Katherine College Hires Rachel Wright to Start Women's Softball Program

March 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Wright began coaching at The Veritas School in Ridgeland, MS as the head coach in 2010-2012, taking her team to the state championships each year with excellent 28-5 and 24-6 records in each season. From there, Rachel went to Yavapai College in Prescott,AZ where she became the assistant coach of a nationally ranked softball program. Softball has been a part of Rachel’s life starting at a young age, playing competitive softball at the age of 12 and high school ball after that. She attended Palomar College in San Marcos, CA where she played 1st and 3rd for 2 years. While at Palomar she received the honor of All-State, All-Southern California Region 2007, and 1st Team All-Conference for the Pacific Coast Conference 2006-2007. She then went on to Belhaven University in Jackson, MS where she played 2nd and right field, helping her team to a GCAC Conference Championship in 2010 and a 5th place finish at the 2010 NAIA National Championship in her first year there. In Rachel’s 2nd year with the Lady Blazers, she helped her team win the SSAC Conference Championship in 2011 and a 3rd place finish at the 2011 NAIA National Championship. Wright graduated from Belhaven University with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Sports Administration.
