On Saturday, April 13, 2013, members of the media, faith-based ministries, government, law enforcement, and public service organizations will assemble to explore the warning signs of sex trafficking within the urban community. The mission is to provide a platform for the education, advocacy and resource fulfillment for those who work closely with at-risk youth and adults. The event will feature child sex traffic survivor, actress and filmmaker Brook Parker-Bello who will present her documentary film “SURVIVOR: Confirmed panelists include: • Denise Williams (Mental Health Provider, Minority AIDS Project) • Erika Pollard (Social Worker, Los Angeles County, DCFS) • Lesford Duncan (Los Angeles City Coordinator, California Against Slavery/Prop 35) • Terri Nathan (Event Host, Sexual Assault Prevention Counselor) • Rev. Rochelle Carr (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Mu Epsilon Omega Chapter Action Factory LA will be the host venue for the event, located at 1720 E. Holly Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245. Doors open at 2pm, with the program beginning promptly at 3pm. Lunch provided by MDC Concierge will be available for purchase with a portion of proceeds donated to charity.
