Vikram Solar grabs ET Bengal Corporate Award as a new venture earning beyond 30 crores bottomline

Kolkata Based Vikram Solar Private limited has won the ET Bengal Corporate Award 2013 first of its kind in Eastern India for new entrepreneurial venture with more than 30 crores turnover.

KOLKATA, India - March 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Yes it is none other than Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd which has won the first ET Bengal Corporate Award 2013 for New Entrepreneurial Venture with more than 30 crores turnover. The company proposes to launch an IPO in the end of this year. The award function was organized by Economic Times Group on Saturday 16th March 2013. “It is a matter of pride to win such an award and I congratulate the ET group for acknowledging our efforts towards nation-building by providing solar energy in every corners of the country. The future of India is solar and it will be the only source of renewable energy in the coming years,” said Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Vikram Group of Industries, Kolkata. He is also the Chairman of Kalyan Bharti Trust, which has established Heritage Group of Institutions in Kolkata catering to school education as well as higher education. Apart from this, Shri H.K.Chaudhary is also the Chairman of BRCM Group of Institutions in Bahal, Haryana and is also linked with many other philanthropic organizations across the nation.  Shri Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD, Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd motivated his team to earn the bottom line efficiently. A B-school graduate from Cardiff Business School, Shri Gyanesh Chaudhary had blended Vikram Solar with the new technologies available around the globe.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Sachin Pilot, the Union minister of State for corporate affairs (independent charge), urged city industrialists to take pride in being an Indian and to work in union towards development of the nation. “Comparisons of India’s economic progress with that of China’s is very common; but one must realize that the two countries are poles apart in their federal structures which makes decision taking a comparatively much more time-consuming job in India than in China,” he said. Pilot was responding to a few points raised by Manipal Global Chairman TV Mohandas Pai, who had been with Infosys earlier. Pai had drawn a comparison between the economies of China and India and had said, among other things, that population wise, India at 1.22 billion in 2012 was most logically comparable only with China at 1.35 billion.

Co-sponsors of the event were Kesoram, Emami, Simplex Infrastructures, GreenTech City, Keventer, Concast Maxx and Bengal Energy. A total of 12 awards were given out by Pilot. Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd was chosen as the Best Entity in the area of Corporate Governance. The award for the Best Entity in the area of Environment-Friendly Business Practices went to Tantia Agrochemicals Pvt Ltd. Berger Paints was the Best Entity in the area of New Product/ Process Development. La Opala RG Ltd was the Best Entity in the area of Innovation in Business Model. Great Eastern Energy Corporation Ltd won the award as the Best Entity in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility. Himadri Chemicals & Industries Ltd was chosen as the Existing Large Corporate with more than 1,000-crore turnover. Tega Industries won the award as the Existing Large Corporate with a turnover ranging between 300 crore and 1,000 crore. Indus Net Technologies was awarded as the Existing Large Corporate with a turnover of less than 300 crore.
