By: Marketzing “We are so proud to launch this program in Atlanta. The event was a huge success; everybody had a great time including parents who are all new to rugby. Enthusiasm was very high for all involved and we are excited about the future of the program,” offered Jim Turner, GYRA League Commissioner. “We have growing programs for high school (U19) and middle school (15) already and this flag program will help us to engage youth at the elementary level.” Last week the GYRA kicked off their regular league season between four clubs – Walton Raiders, Lambert High School, Kennesaw Mountain High School and Phoenix Rugby Club. These matches will lead to a state championship in April. Currently GYRA represents over 180 registered players at all levels of play. About GYRA The Georgia Youth Rugby Association is a non-profit group dedicated to promoting the value of participation in rugby for the challenge of competition, the joy of victory, the reality of defeat, the importance of commitment, and the spirit of community and teamwork. We, along with all of our member teams, work in partnership with the USA Rugby Association and adhere to their participation guidelines as well as their mission of achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality in all aspects of rugby.
