—Greensboro based literary and spoken word performance arts group Poet.She is partnering with Lady Bizness, Inc. for Neo Natural: The Convention, an event that focuses on natural hair, beauty, fashion, and artistry,; will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 6-10 pm at the African American Atelier located in the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, 200 N. Davie Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
Poet.She has a brand in the community for being the only all female arts and spoken word group in North Carolina. The group takes the time to bring issues that affect women and the community at large to light trough the art of spoken word poetry. Members of the organization will participate in Neo Natural: The Convention as panelists and performers at the event. “Neo Natural: The Convention is a great way to show the community what we do as an organization and how the expression of words is still an art form that deserves attention. In addition attendees can to donate to our organization on a philanthropic level,” states Poet.She founder Kelly Rae.
“Partnering with Poet.She was a simple choice,” says Chisa D. Pennix-Brown, founder of Neo Natural, qmtgg “because their mission of enlightening women aligns with the purpose of The Convention”. Other performers will be featured at the event to provide independent artists of all types the opportunity to showcase their work. At this time Neo Natural: The Convention is still looking for visual artists that want to sell and/or showcase artwork. Visual artist tables are available at the rate of $50 and general Admission to the show is only $30 or two tickets for $50 until April 1, 2013, which includes admission to the convention, exhibitors, and demonstrations.
