Wood Design Launches Online Platform for Independent Furniture Makers

March 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Wood Design is an online furniture shop and blog devoted to the makers and materials behind contemporary and sustainable furniture and accessory designs.
Committed to creating the most interesting, diverse and unique space around the material online, we curate an expanding list of emerging and established designers and provide a platform of creative, unique and often exclusive pieces. We seek to define and demonstrate contemporary North American craftsmanship today and are evolving our diversity, price points and coverage to open up new markets for the independent makers we work with.

Starting with the idea of featuring furniture makers, artists, designers and architects to give prominence to the stories of the material in contemporary design as well as that of the makers working with it. What we found was an inspirational array of people and designs at the forefront of craftsmanship today. As we got to know some of them we started gathering a group of North American independent furniture makers to create an online shop unlike anything else available online or on the high street. Beyond simply aesthetics we strive to create personality and authenticity in everything we do to deliver an experience as unique as the stories we tell everyday.
