BEAVERTON, Ore. - March 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Beaverton, Oregon— Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems (http://www.biamp.com/systems/index.aspx),  is pleased to announce the installation of a multi-facility, networked public address system in the Birmingham Public School District in Michigan.

The School District upgraded communications in all 15 of their buildings with Vocia, providing a unified communication system that provided clear, intelligible paging, schedule bells, and message announcements in each building. In addition, the system is also the on-demand emergency message platform throughout the district.

Dean Harris of Integrated Design Solutions acted as the consultant and system designer, and Bob Sullivan of Advanced Lighting and Sound managed the installation. Vocia provided the robust paging backbone and exceptional sound quality with remote system supervision over the District’s existing wide-area network (WAN). It also provided expanded features and tied into the existing two-way paging infrastructure located in each classroom; and the ease of operation enabled the IT staff to monitor the system health from any remote location.

Because the buildings are located at least a few miles from each other, all are tied together with Vocia through the District’s existing WAN, allowing for inter-building paging and integrating with the existing school bell system to playback pre-recorded school messages from a single administration location.

“Our confidence in Vocia was confirmed the first week of school when staff could really hear the difference in the bells and announcements. We’re very happy with our investment in Biamp and Vocia.” –Dr. Joseph Hoffman, Executive Director of Technology for Birmingham Public Schools
