Vickers Electronics New Boss Plans Global Expansion

March 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Vickers Electronics specialises in the design, manufacture, fit-out and maintenance of technology systems which dramatically cut energy bills and carbon emissions by controlling heating in commercial or industrial buildings.

The company can reduce customers’ energy costs by more than 40% thanks to ‘smart technology products’ complete with self-learning predictive programming, ultra-accurate temperature sensors and other energy saving features.

The firm, which is headquartered in Trafford in Greater Manchester, has grown rapidly since a management buyout in the summer of 2011 with dozens of new jobs created, a new apprenticeship programme and more than 200 contract wins.

Newly appointed CEO Nick Owen has now set his sights on global expansion.

He said: “There’s huge potential at Vickers Electronics. At the moment we only sell our products in the UK so we’ll be setting up a network of distributors abroad. We have the opportunity to sell in any country with the same climate as the UK – so the market is potentially massive.

“I’ve been in sales and marketing all my life and have helped businesses to grow and expand as a ‘business doctor’. It’s opportunities like that which get my juices flowing so I’m delighted to be joining Vickers Electronics at such an exciting time.”

Mr Owen, 60, brings 30 years of business experience with him to Vickers Electronics having worked for blue chip companies like BP Chemicals and oversaw two management buyouts with other businesses.

He spotted the growth potential at Vickers Electronics after joining the business as a non-executive director on behalf of venture capitalists Enterprise Ventures.

Vickers Electronics’ product range is constantly expanding with additional features and services for customers.

The latest system, the V42, can control lighting and electrical appliances, as well as heating. A computer package also allows the system to be monitored and run remotely.

Mr Owen said: “Our products save businesses’ money – it’s as simple as that. With gas and oil prices on the up, any finance director who’s looking at energy bills of £6,000 or more needs to talk to us because Vickers Electronics can definitely help.”
