Franklin County, PA Families Join to Recycle Kids Clothing and Toys

Twice-yearly Annie’s Kids Consignment Expo Returns to Franklin County, PA, April 18 – 18, 2013

March 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Chambersburg, PA – Annie’s Kids Consignment Expo, LLC, a company founded by 3 generations of local women, will host an event from April 18 – 20, 2013 to help sell local families of their gently used clothing, toys, books and baby equipment at the AMVETS’ Pavilion on 750 Fifth Ave, Chambersburg, PA.

This event is just in time for spring and summer. The sale benefits over 100 families in the tri-state area by providing them with a focused sale where they can earn cash for their gently-used children’s items, such as clothing, baby gear, and toys; save money on newer items for their kids, and donate selected items to the Better Days Animal League Thrift Shop.

“We are a country that has so much without even knowing it” said Mary Case a co-founder of Annie’s Kids Consignment Expo, LLC. “Our community has closets, garages, and storage areas overflowing with kids’ items, many of which were hardly used or never used at all. Our sale is a great way for parents to organize the excess and turn it into cash. It also provides a second life and sometimes more life to the items that would just normally be filling up our landfills, certainly an excellent way to recycle.”

Annie’s Kids Consignment Expo provides the location and the promotion to attract shoppers and consignors throughout the area. Consignors prepare their items and set their own prices. Volunteers organize merchandise and assist shoppers during the sale. Consignors will receive their commission check in less than a week, receiving an impressive 65% - 100% of items sold.

As a further service, families can designate which of their unsold items can go directly to charities. “At the last sale, many stuffed boxes of gently used items were donated to the Better Days Animal League Thrift Shop,” said Case. One to two charities are chosen each sale to receive the donations. “It is a great feeling when the charity is so appreciative for the donations, and we help the little animals of the area.”

“This is such an easy way to sell or donate, your outgrown children’s items,” said Case.

“It’s so much easier and a lot less hassle than trying to set up a yard sale weekend after weekend. Consignors have a better chance in selling items because the sale is focused with shoppers who are looking specifically for kids’ stuff and there is no haggling with the prices. At the end of the sale, we will take care of the charity donations.”

The decline economy has made it very difficult for families to be able to afford the extras for their children; at Annie’s Kids Consignment Expo, the community can save 40% - 50% or more on gently used infant and children’s items. “This is like a little secret, and our business is growing more and more each time, said Case.” And unlike a garage sale or flea market, parents don’t have to waste time rummaging in random piles of merchandise looking for what they need, as everything is organized, categorized and clearly labeled by size, gender and merchandise group.

There is a strong commitment to quality as items brought into the sale are carefully screened to make sure they are clean, in good condition, and in working order. “Our consignors know that this is not a garage sale, this is where we accept high quality and gently used kid’s items,” said Case.

Event hours are from 7am – 7pm, April 18th, 7am – 7pm, April 19th, 7am – 3pm, April 20th.

“We really feel good about this business, at the end of the day it is a win-win for all!”
