March 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Leading local housebuilder Peveril Homes helped to bring out the bookworm in local children last week, all in aid of World Book Day.

The housebuilder donated £150 worth of books to schools in the surrounding areas of its developments, including Uttoxeter, Belper, Sutton-in-Ashfield and Rugby, to help encourage pupils to keep on reading and ignite their imagination.

Colin Wright, Peveril Homes’ construction and technical director, took time out of his busy schedule to read a chapter of a book to children at each shool before handing them over.

He commented: “It’s a great event which we always try to get involved with, and what better way to do it than with a book donation that links directly with the national curriculum.”

Louise Hancock, a teacher from Kilburn Infants in Belper, comments: “Without companies like Peveril, our pupils wouldn’t be able to benefit from World Book Day. We would like to thank the company for the kind donation and hope to see a representative from Peveril again next year!”
