Umniah announces unprecedented partnerships and projects to support and develop the ICT

March 10, 2013 - PRLog -- In line with its vision on the leading role assigned to the IT sector, Umniah Telecom unveiled several strategic partnerships and projects during the MENA ICT Forum 2013. The first announcement was its partnership withPlug&Play Tech Center – one of the largest and most prominent business incubators in the Silicon Valley. The other announcements included launching the unprecedented services of4G LTE, its own IP Gateways, in addition to its latest Security Operations Center.

Umniah announced these partnerships and projects in a press conferenceheld during the second day of the MENAICT Forum 2013,that was organized by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j), and in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) and the Arab ICT Organization (ijma3), and with support from the United States Agency for International Development – USAID. This forum gathered more than 100 participants between leaders and decision makers from the region and the world, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities of changes and developments in the Sector.

In addition to these announcements, Umniah, represented by its CEO Ihab Hinnawi and several members of its employees, participated in the event and sessions of the forum that discussed the latest developments and trends of the sector especially in the field of integrating technology into the economic sectors and the revolution of broadband internet services.

Regarding its partnership with “Plug&Play", Umniah announced that this is an unprecedented partnership assigning Umniah as the only company partnering with this centerin Jordan that will bridge the Country to Silicon Valley, in order to assist local leadingentrepreneur companies to obtain support and training opportunities at the Center. "Plug&Play"is one of themostimportantandfamousbusiness incubatorsin theSiliconValleyproviding support and training to companiesandenablingthemtocommunicate withstartup companiesandexpertsinthe SiliconValley.

As for theIP gateway, Umniah’s Director of Marketing Omar Al-Omoush explained that Umniah established a partnership with Reliance Globalcom, one of the leading submarine cable companies in the region and the world, which will directly connect Umniah to the global internet network to meet the growing needs and demands for broadband internet in Jordan.

Umniah also unveiled the expansion of its very own Security Operations Centerincluding and for the first time Clean Pipe Internet andDDoS Protection services, offering betterservices and informationsecuritysolutionsto companies and organizationsfrom variouseconomicsectors, inlightofthegrowingriskofnetworkandcyber attacksaroundtheworld.

Regarding Umniah being the first to launch 4G LTE service in Jordan, Umniah confirmed the success of its live tests in cooperation with its strategic partner Huawei, the leading global information and communications technology solutions and equipment provider. 4G LTE is the latest advancement in the world of technology today aimed at quadrupling the speed of wireless internet access, reaching an internet speed of 130 Mbps.
