CCCS of Greater Dallas and PlainsCapital Bank Kick Off Financial Literacy Poster Contest to Promote Upcoming Financial Literacy Month.

Texas Students Invited to Enter Original Artwork Illustrating “Saving for Success!”

Dallas – March 7, 2013– Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS) and PlainsCapital Bank have partnered to host the 2013 financial literacy poster contest for students in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock and San Antonio to help educate young Texans about the importance of sound money management. Elementary (Kindergarten – 5th grade), Middle (6th – 8th grade) and High School (9th – 12th grade) students are invited to submit original artwork illustrating this year’s theme, “Saving for Success,” by the April 11, 2013 deadline.

“We are excited to celebrate the 2013 Financial Literacy Month in April by partnering with PlainsCapital Bank and hosting a poster contest for Texas students,” said Todd Mark, vice president of education for CCCS of Greater Dallas. “We believe by offering a fun and creative way to learn and explore financial literacy, our children are more likely to become interested in developing responsible financial management plans in the future.”

“PlainsCapital Bank and CCCS of Greater Dallas are committed to improving financial literacy in our communities, especially within grade schools where finance and money management classes are not required,” said Pete Villarreal, PlainsCapital Bank chief administrative officer. “The poster contest is an excellent way for students to showcase their artistic abilities while exploring topics like saving, budgeting and the importance of making sound financial decisions for their future.”

A judging panel made up of financial literacy experts and spokespeople will choose one winner from every grade category in each city (Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock and San Antonio) with a total of 15 winners.

Official entry forms and contest rules can be found at www.cccs.net/postercontest.

PlainsCapital Bank will provide the following prizes and recognition to the winners:

• Elementary winners: $100 per student winner in each market and $100 to the student’s designated teacher
• Middle School winners: $100 per student winner in each market and $100 to the student’s designated teacher
• High School winners: $100 per student winner in each market and $100 to the student’s designated teacher
