March 7, 2013 - PRLog -- The New Westchester Symphony Orchestra (NewWSO) will present its Spring Concert on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 3pm in the beautiful sanctuary of the Scarsdale Congregational Church, 1 Heathcote Road, Scarsdale, NY, 10583.

An audition-free, amateur community ensemble, the NewWSO held its debut concert to an oversold audience in March 2012 in at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, NY, and also sold out their Fall 2012 concert at the same venue. The full houses are evidence that Westchester residents desire something new and different when it comes to classical music performance, despite the plethora of wonderfully perfect professional performances available in the NY metro area.

At its Spring Concert on April 14, 2013, NewWSO will present a refreshing take on classical music performance by showcasing how "everyday people" can come together to create beautiful sound in addition to doing whatever else they do in their regular lives. Doctors, lawyers, administrators, parents, retirees, high school students and many others come together every week to rehearse the greatest pieces in music history in a judgement-free and supportive environment. In the past year, the number of musicians in NewWSO have swelled to more than 50 and continue to grow, a sign that avocational Westchester musicians are hungry for an opportunity to express themselves through great music in a non-competitive, joyful environment.

At this performance, NewWSO will share its infectious love of music with its audience. Conductor Benjamin Niemczyk states that the NewWSO Spring Concert will be "an inspiring follow-up to our sold-out Spring and Fall performances of 2012. The NewWSO Spring concert is no second-place when it comes to fantastic fun for the whole family. Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Schubert round out a prize-fight calibre sounding of history's greatest music."

The Scarsdale Congregational Church boasts an acoustically-brilliant, light-infused sanctuary, ample seating and plenty of parking. It will be a beautiful afternoon of music with a surprise or two tucked inside.
