Follow on Google News | Mercedes-Benz Will Offer the Most Powerful Production Four-Cylinder Engine in the WorldBy: Motor Werks Mercedes Benz Barrington http://www.motorwerksmercedes.com/ The 2013 A45 AMG® will be powered by a hand-built, turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that’s capable of producing 360 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque. This may be a fairly small engine, but Mercedes-Benz claims that it will be able to sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. It will also come standard with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive; the vehicle uses front-wheel drive in most instances, but up to half of the engine's power can be sent to the car’s rear wheels if necessary. The engine will come paired with a seven-speed AMG® SPEEDSHIFT® Double-Clutch Transmission. It offers three selectable driving modes — Controlled Efficiency, Sport, and Manual — allowing drivers to get exactly what they want from their vehicles. There’s also a Momentary M Mode — this affords the driver shifting control with the car’s paddle shifters while the vehicle is in either Controlled Efficiency or Sport mode. Of course, there’s more to this car than just its engine and transmission; In terms of looks, it will receive distinctive AMG® styling. This will include matte gray trim, sport seats with upholstery made of Artico manufactured leather, and carbon fiber dash trim, along with red seatbelts and AMG® door sill panels. The new A45 AMG® will be available in Europe in the summer of 2013. There’s currently no word on a U.S. release date.
