FPT listed as a new member of Smart TV Alliance

March 7, 2013 - PRLog -- HANOI, VIETNAM –FEBRUARY 29, 2013 –FPT Corporation (VNINDEX: FPT) today announced its participation in Smart TV Alliance, a project started by LG in the view of creating a common platform for developing connected TV applications.

FPT is the first Vietnamese company to be welcomed into Smart TV Alliance as a contributing member. Founded by LG Electronics, TP Vision and Toshiba, Smart TV Alliance’s ultimate goal is to create standards and define technical specifications which allow developers to write on-screen applications that can work across multiple TVs regardless of the platform, instead of writing separately for each manufacturer.  The Alliance's ranks have quickly grown reputation and included Panasonic, IBM, Specific Media, ABOX42, TechniSat and Qualcomm to its community.

The participation of FPT in the Alliance shows that the company is taking a long and sturdy step towards the smart televisions application market.  Recognizing the nuisance in chasing down each manufacturer's requirements and compliance process, FPT will be joining hands and working alongside with top manufacturers and solution providers in the world to standardize applications and ultimately, create the best Smart TV experience for consumers.
