Devil’s Advocate Legal Fee Management Seminars: Is your company paying reasonable legal fees?

Devil's Advocate, legal consultants, provides seminars and private webcasts to business and government clients interested in legal fee and litigation management issues. Topics include fee management, litigation monitoring, and legal fee issues.
March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- As a service to clients and lawyers, Devil's Advocate, the legal fee management and litigation consulting firm, is providing a series of seminars at little or no cost around the country.  Seminar topics include legal fee management, legal bill reviews, litigation monitoring, legal fee dispute resolution, legal expense budgeting, and alternatives to hourly billing.  The topics and content are flexible, depending on the sponsor’s interests.

“While many of the most common problems with legal fees have been recognized for decades, solutions have been evolving over time.  There are also new problems arising as lawyers have been struggling to increase revenue by resisting client demands for accountability and efficiency,” according to Devil’s Advocate’s founder, John Toothman.  He adds that “clients need to understand where their lawyers are coming from and assess their performance, not just their bills,” and “clients cannot implement new management tools, including fee management software, alternative fees, a new billing agreement, or the like without tracking performance.  There are always unexpected consequences and an evolution of issues – there’s no magic solution to every client’s concerns.”

In the past several years, DA seminars have been delivered to insurance companies, government agencies, and businesses seeking a rational approach to managing their legal fees and expenses.  DA also provides seminars on these and other topics for lawyers and law firms.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Devil’s Advocate has been the leading legal fee management and litigation consulting firm, and its founder, John Toothman, has been the leading expert in the field, including the author of the leading papers and books about legal fees and their management.

Some seminars may be open to the public, but most are presented in-house to facilitate focused and more private discussions tailored to the sponsor’s needs and interests.  Presentations may be live in-house or by webcast.  (Devil’s Advocate also provides customized legal fee management training as an option with its legal bill reviews.)

Typical seminars are either half or full day, but shorter presentations can also fit into a working lunch or breakfast format. DA presents these seminars so potential clients will appreciate its expertise and the value of its services.

The seminars may qualify for continuing legal education credit.  To discuss sponsoring a DA seminar for your organization or for more information, visit DA’s website, or call or contact DA by email.  (Sponsorship opportunities are limited and subject to DA’s availability and approval.)
