York garage wins award for best new dealership in UK

March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The Isuzu dealership in York has been recognised as the ‘best new Isuzu dealership’ in the UK by Isuzu Motors.

The dealership was taken over in November 2011 by local family-run business, York Van Centre Ltd, and has since gone from strength to strength.

There are over 100 Isuzu dealerships in the UK and Managing Director, Tony Huggins, is delighted with its early success.

“It’s brilliant that we have been recognised by Isuzu Motors and winning this award,” he said.

“We are just a small team but all our people are dedicated and committed to making this dealership a success here in York.”

Tony and his wife Liz set up York Van Centre Ltd in 1992 and will celebrate its 21st anniversary later this year. Since then, the business has grown and now operates from two purpose built sites in Shipton-by-Beningbrough and Poppleton.

Dave Badder, Regional Development Manager, Isuzu, said: “This award recognises the most innovative and successful new Isuzu dealership in the UK throughout 2012. Tony and his team have done a fantastic job since the launch back in November 2011 and it’s great to see it doing so well, particularly in the current climate.”

The dealership sells new and used Isuzu pick-up trucks and all makes of used commercial vehicles. Much of its success has been the sales of the new Isuzu D-Max.
