March 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlanta, Ga. – Cassandra Hollis, an international film director and producer, has been speaking to audiences along the East Coast and inspiring them to live their purpose in the entertainment industry. She participated in two panel discussions, “Producers Panel” and “Women in Film and Entertainment,” at the 2013 Charlotte Black Film Festival (CBFF) in Charlotte, NC. And, in January, she spoke at the AMTC SHINE conference in Orlando, FL representing the Hollywood Prayer Network (HPN).

“I love directing and producing films, and it's a real joy to speak at festivals and conferences and teach workshops not only to show people that making a film is challenging but that it can be done. I also like to share the message that it’s important to pray for the industry and create positive content,” she said.

On the “Women in Film and Entertainment” panel at the CBFF, Hollis was asked about the challenges she has encountered as a woman filmmaker and shared that they have probably been subtle but nothing major. “The main thing is to know your craft and your team will respect you,” she shared. In addition to that panel, Hollis was invited to join in the conversation with fellow producers on the “Producers” panel to talk about the film making process, from writing a script to making the final edits.

"Ms. Hollis' participation at the festival was great, especially what she shared with the attendees about the film making and distribution process,” said Tommy Nichols, founder and director of the Charlotte Black Film Festival. “As one lady stated, 'Cassandra is laying the groundwork for other females to follow' and we know she has more to offer in the future.”

As director of the Atlanta chapter of HPN, Hollis has been called upon many times to pray for the entertainment industry and speak about the role of prayer in the industry at national prayer day gatherings and other industry events. In January, she presented a 45-minute speech at the bi-annual SHINE event in Orlando, Florida. SHINE is a major industry event, presented by Actors, Models and Talent for Christ (AMTC) that showcases upcoming talent and prepares them for the industry. Hollis spoke about prayer for Hollywood and for the artist.

Hollis has written, produced and directed eight films. Her award-winning SAG film, "The Altar" is

currently distributed on television networks in the United States, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
