March 5, 2013 - PRLog -- This couple has helped hundreds and have brought smiles to thousands. They are named Joseph and Mary, but more amazing is they are better known as Santa and Mrs. Claus throughout the year. And for good reason they have lived up to the monikers.

A few years back they chaired and ran the first American Cancer Society Relay For Life in San Clemente and raised $50,000. The next year under their leadership, they raised $83,000 for a total of over $133,000. They then began a program emulating the famous Letters to Santa Claus program in New York City. The couple raised thousands of dollars and gave hundreds of families a Christmas they never expected. Then they went around on Christmas Day with their local Fire Department and donated hundreds more toys including bicycles, skateboards and the like to more under privileged children.

This couple didn't stop there. They have visited three Children's Hospitals over several years in two states and brought toys and smiles to hundreds more children, just when these kids needed it most. They also did the same for two domestic abuse shelters in California, and played Santa to thousands of children at Camp Pendleton for three years straight, including to families with deployed parents.

Joseph suffered a heart attack in 2006, and when things became too difficult in California for them financially, they relocated to East Tennessee. There they felt they could catch a break, and live off of the jobs they found. Then came Mary's surgeries in 2008. While she was treated for both uterine and ovarian cancer, she somehow came through and is known as a miracle patient among her doctors.

Being 60ish, they are having a very difficult time getting gainful employment and did not qualify for unemployment. The couple now face losing their home and last remaining possessions. If you feel compelled to help this couple, please visit this site. It is payback time to help a couple that have helped so many others. See more of their story at http://www.gofundme.com/26ppqo.
