March 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Berlin, Germany – Startup Camp Berlin (http://startupcampberlin.de/) has released details of what will be the largest pitching event in Europe. The Startup Camp Berlin’s Pitch Marathon will see 60 startups deliver 4-minute pitches to top-tier investors including John Helm (http://startupcampberlin.de/2013/speaker-lineup/john-helm/) (DN Capital) and Sitar Teli (http://startupcampberlin.de/2013/speaker-lineup/sitar-teli/) (early SoundCloud investor) in the hopes of winning the Camp Champ grand prize.

Startup Camp Berlin 2013 is organized by the Entrepreneurs Club Berlin, a non-profit organization supporting entrepreneurship in Berlin. It’s the third edition of the startup event, but the first one to include a Pitch Marathon. The decision to launch the Pitch Marathon this year aims to give investors and founders more opportunity to connect.

The Pitch Marathon will consist of a series of 5 one-hour pitching sessions, each with 12 accelerated and incubated startups pitching in quick succession. Investors have a chance to meet with the founders between the sessions and reward their favorite startups with ‘Camp Dollars’. The startup with the most Camp Dollars at the end of the event will win the Camp Champ Grand Prize valued at over € 25000.

David Nagy, the organizer of the Pitch Marathon said, "We've added the Pitch Marathon this year as an extra value for investors and startup founders. During all breaks investors can interact with founders in a fun game which we believe will help them connect - and who knows maybe do some great deals!"

“We’re really excited to welcome some high-profile technology investors to the camp this year,” said Startup Camp Berlin organizer Sascha Schubert, “It really raises the profile of the camp to have so many notable speakers and investors here, finding and funding the next big startups.”

The camp expects to have five hundred attendees, both investors and founders, learning from and connecting with seventy speakers over two full days.
