March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Ayrshire, Scotland, 1 March 2013--The Elite Ayrshire Business Circle held its latest business breakfast networking meeting last week in the boardroom of independent local radio station West Sound Radio in Holmston Road, Ayr.

The meeting was hosted by station director Brenda Ritchie and her team, and attended by John Scott, MSP for Ayr, Provost Helen Moonie, Councillor Brian Connolly, and Tricia Irving, Senior Enterprise & Tourism Officer, South Ayrshire Council.

Elite Ayrshire Business Circle executive chairman and Frazer Coogans Commercial Solicitors managing partner Norman Geddes opened the meeting with an illuminating account of his recent week-long trip to Shenzhen in China, which included a visit to the Mission Hills golf and leisure resort, the largest golf complex in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records.

The China trip was at the invitation of Michael and Amanda Zhou and mineral water bottling and distribution company Ganten, who recently purchased Blairquhan Castle in South Ayrshire.

Amanda Zhou was able to attend the West Sound Radio meeting, as were Jim and Meiqin McColm, the Ayrshire business couple who work so hard to further develop business and cultural relations between Ayrshire and China.

West Sound Radio presentation

After the opening address by Norman Geddes, West Sound Radio put on an informative, stimulating and enjoyable presentation.

Adele Salveta, Bauer Media Research, gave a talk entitled “How Radio Works”, or more specifically how West Sound works to deliver most effectively the right advertising message to the right audience at the right time.

James Pllu, Programme Controller, gave a fascinating account of the meticulous attention which the three radio stations in the West Sound group give to ensuring that their local audience hear exactly the right music that is perfectly attuned to their particular tastes.

And finally, creative writer Steve Gibbs gave a talk illustrated with audio clips showing how the particular characteristics of radio listening can be harnessed in a creative way in order to maximise the impact of an advertiser’s message upon its intended audience.

After the meeting, West Sound Radio station director Brenda Ritchie commented: “West Sound Radio was delighted to welcome so many people from a diverse range of businesses to Radio House. We always enjoy hosting these events on behalf of the Elite Ayrshire Business Circle, and look forward to working with them again in the very near future.”

Elite Ayrshire Business Circle executive chairman Norman Geddes concluded: “Brenda Ritchie is to be congratulated on putting together such a dynamic team of individuals who so obviously enjoy working together and pooling their talents in order to keep West Sound at the forefront of the radio industry.

“The welcome our members received was first class, and we thank all involved for their kind hospitality.”
