Raising Astoria – Maternity and Baby Store Celebrating 1 Year in Business

March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Astoria, NY March 1, 2013:  Raising Astoria, a baby and maternity boutique is celebrating their 1 year anniversary Saturday, March 2nd from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM by offering free donuts for everyone attending.

Raising Astoria has sustained and grown its business in the challenging economic climate by offering consignment clothing for children and expecting mothers, toys, and a variety of classes at affordable prices.  Class offerings include CPR, Infant Care, and Child Birthing classes for expecting parents, as well as fun music and art classes for infants and toddlers. In addition, the store offers an array of unique developmental and educational toys from such companies as Janod, Tolo, Plan Toys and Wonderworld Toys.

Although the year brought many challenges, including the lack of business during the week Hurricane Sandy hit, the business continues to thrive and improve its offerings for the increasing families in Astoria and neighboring areas.

Co-owner, Kimberly Rossignol Montini says, “Some people thought we were crazy to open a storefront business in the culture of internet sales and competitive pricing, but we found a formula that works for us. We’ve created a one-stop-shop where parents feel comfortable taking classes and they want to support our business by buying items in the store.  We’re very excited about what the next year will bring as we add to our classes by recruiting talented instructors and responding to the community’s needs.”
