By: You Do Yoga LLC Cincinnati Ohio Yoga School A few changes to our studio class schedules - In Anderson Township, Shane will be adding an Advanced Hatha class at 9am on Tuesdays. For those of you who are comfortable in the mixed-level hatha classes, this is the next step! A little more time and a bit more challenge. On Sundays we are going to miss TIffany while she takes a maternity leave, but the 11am Beginner's class will be in good hands with Rosalie Sovilla, who also teaches our beginners Ashtanga class on Wednesday evening. We have a unique new offering coming to our Downtown studio: Our Deaf-friendly Yoga class is perfect for those interested in experiencing a visually guided yoga class. Lead by RYT and ASL student Mary Wood, this practice will be designed for the hearing-impaired but open to all. Come join us for this exploration of the senses, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month at 4pm. At the other end of the sensory spectrum, Nolan is moving his Thursday night Yin Yoga class to 7-8:30pm and will feature a unique soundtrack for each practice with "Tune Yin". Further details are at: http://www.youdoyoga.com/ We have lots of exciting special events lined up for you, and this is just the beginning - check out these special class offerings, workshops, and teacher training opportunities: We are always excited to host Joe Barnett when he returns to Cincinnati! Details and pre-registration now online at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ Shane has developed two separate events focusing on Buddhist philosophy and practice. Offered Saturday April 13, 12:30-5:30pm at Anderson Township. All are welcome, no previous experience necessary. You can Pre-Register at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ Shane's next offering will take place Saturday May 11th, 1-3 pm at our Anderson Township studio, centered on one of the most powerful scriptures of the Buddhist traditions. This workshop will develop the understanding of the Heart of the Prajnaparamita Sutra as the gift of wisdom beyond wisdom. Pre-Register online at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ We have posted dates for our next round of Taoist Yoga 200 hour teacher training beginning in January of 2014. We only accept a limited number of participants each year, so if you are serious about this do not hesitate! Please contact the Director of Teacher Training to discuss enrollment. For more information go to http://www.youdoyoga.com/ You Do Yoga will be offering a 300 hour advanced teacher training program beginning the later half of 2013! This program is designed for those who have already completed any other 200 hour RYT program, and will lead to a 500-Hour RYT certification. We believe that to most effectively teach and practice yoga, one must understand fundamental principles of anatomy. We will thoroughly examine the Yin approach to asana, and then move with confidence into Yang practices of both Taoist and Indian forms. With a strong foundation in physical practices, we will proceed into the subtler realms, applying the functional approach to the energetic system of the body through meridian exercise, pranayama, and meditation. Emphasis will be placed on applying this knowledge to practical situations of teaching yoga. Enrollment is by acceptance only, and anyone interested is encouraged to contact the director of teacher training to discuss the opportunity. http://www.youdoyoga.com/ While you may be aware that our Taoist Yoga Teacher Training is different from most others, we are equally aware that many people are not able to commit to an entire program. That is why we are continuing to offer pieces of our teacher training curriculum in a weekend workshop format. You Do Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance, and can grant CEUs for attending these events. The current offering is a series of philosophy workshops covering some of the seminal texts of yoga. Teachings of the East is a 6 part series taking place through June of 2013. Register in advance for any one of these events at http://www.youdoyoga.com/ The next CEU offering will overlap with the opening session of our advanced teacher training. Designed for yoga Instructors and serious students, our 51-hour Advanced Functional Anatomy Intensive will be offered July 22-27. The major focus will be comparative skeletal anatomy, emphasizing the important role of individual differences in asana practice. Going beyond the standard "everyone is different" cliche, we will become comfortable with techniques that allow us to assess an individual's capacity for movement, and learn to adapt our instruction to suit each person's unique ability. Enrollment is by acceptance only, group size will be limited, and anyone interested is encouraged to contact the director of teacher training. http://www.youdoyoga.com/ Well, that about covers it for this edition.
