-- L.J. Star Inc., the leading provider of process observation equipment, has added an online demo (http://www.ljstar.com/
to its website that uses actual photos to show how LED sight glass lights make it easier to observe chemical and pharmaceutical processes through a sight glass, compared to halogen lights.
LED sight glass lights approximate daylight at mid-day (4800-6300 Kelvin) while halogen sight glass lights approximate dusk (2800 Kelvin) and cause eye strain.
LED sight glass lights give operators a well-lit glare-free view of their chemical and pharmaceutical processes, with the added benefit of aiding corporate green initiatives. LED luminaires provide more than five times the lumens per watt than incandescent luminaires. An incandescent luminaire converts 85% of the input power into heat, while an LED luminaire converts only 5% of its input power into heat. This exceptional efficiency also makes them ideal for heat-sensitive processes as LED sight glass luminaires won’t add heat to a process.
LED luminaires are also a good fit for high-reliability sight glass applications. Unlike halogen sight glass lights that have fragile filaments, LED sight glass lights tolerate more vibration and typically have a lifetime of more
than 50,000 hours. This exceptionally long lifetime means lower maintenance costs and fewer process interruptions.
Through actual photos showing LED vs. Halogen lighting, process operators and process system engineers can see the difference between using LED sight glass lighting compared to traditional halogen light at http://www.ljstar.com/design/led_halogen_comparison.aspxAbout L.J. Star
