Follow on Google News | The Rock Provides Hope During Alcohol Awareness MonthThis March, the Rock Church recognizes the adults who struggle with alcoholism during Alcohol Awareness Month.
By: Rock Church “16 months ago I was living in my own prison, a prison that I created for myself with repeated drug and alcohol abuse. By the grace of God I got to treatment and once out of treatment found Rock. Rock Recovery is a fellowship of men and women just like myself, struggling with addiction and learning how to be a part of something that helps so many. We are a group of people who found a solution to a bondage of drugs and alcohol. We have found that solution in Jesus Christ. Bible study on Tuesdays, a bonfire on Fridays and we all attend church Sunday mornings together. I am blessed to be a part of something so much bigger than myself that has helped save my life, said 27-year-old, Rock Recovery participant, Joey. Statistically, 76 million Americans have been exposed to alcoholism in the family. About 18% of Americans lived with alcoholism while growing up. Right now there are an estimated 26.8 million children of alcoholics in the United States, making 11 million under the age of 18. Research shows 13 to 25 percent are likely to develop alcoholism in the near future.* There is a way out from the bondage and destructive power of alcohol and drug addiction. Rock Recovery is one of the many organizations that provides hope and help through small group interaction, scripture, and twelve step principles. The Rock Church is nationally recognized for their ministry efforts and programs that help to bring persuasive hope to the people in San Diego. No matter the circumstances of the situation, God has the power, mercy, and forgiveness to work miracles. Rock recovery ministry invites all to take action in changing lives and attend one of our free opportunities open to the public.
