Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- (Lake Worth, FL – February 25, 2013)  Nancy Marshall, President of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades, which champions the restoration and preservation of the greater ecosystem of Florida’s historic River of Grass, today announced that Kathe Thompson has been named to the nonprofit organization’s Board of Directors.

“As a longtime member of the Marshall Foundation’s Advisory Council, Kathe Thompson shares our profound commitment to preserving and protecting the environment,” said Mrs. Marshall. “Her impressive experience and genuine passion will be an invaluable asset to the Marshall Foundation for the Everglades as we prepare for a vigorous 15th anniversary celebration.”

“The Marshall Foundation is truly for the Everglades, and I am honored to serve on its board,” said Ms. Thompson.

About Kathe Thompson:
Kathe Thompson grew up in the Midwest, attended the University of Illinois and graduated in 1963 from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She taught music in elementary, middle and high schools; worked in law offices in Texas and Washington, D.C. as a receptionist, office manager, and paralegal; framed art work in a gallery on the West Bank in New Orleans; been a docent at the Audubon House in Key West; a grounds keeper at the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key, FL; worked in the Laubach Adult Literacy program in Homestead; and even found time to hike the Appalachian Trail. Six years after she and her husband John moved to Wellington in 2002, Kathe Thompson joined the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County, where she served as president from 2009 to 2011.
