Follow on Google News | Siri Eyes Free Integration Comes to Chevrolet’s MyLink SystemThe technology is currently available in Chevy’s Sonic and Spark.
Siri is an intelligent digital assistant that responds to users’ voice commands, and is available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod models. Since Siri can perform a number of tasks, it's an especially useful technology to anyone who’s on the road. Typically, Siri requires a button to be pressed on a compatible device in order to use, but Siri Eyes Free integration with Chevy’s MyLink system allows users to interact with Siri using only their voice, allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road. Users simply pair their device with MyLink via Bluetooth and use it with the steering wheel-mounted voice-activation button. Chevrolet marketing director for small cars, Cristi Landy, said, “Safe, easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink’s existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience.” Siri’s functionality when paired with Chevy’s MyLink system can make calls, play songs in a user’s iTunes library, listen to and compose text messages, and access a calendar, among other things.
