C.W. Driver completes first urgent care center in Romona

C.W. Driver Completes Construction on Romona Ambulatory Care Center in San Diego County New center becomes the first urgent care facility in Ramona

Feb. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- C.W. Driver, a leader in Southern California healthcare construction, has completed construction on Palomar Health’s Ramona Ambulatory Care Center, a new $4.5 million satellite clinic in Ramona, Calif. When open to the community in March 2013, the 7,600-square-foot, single-story outpatient medical clinic built on approximately an acre of land will expand the healthcare services for the Ramona community.

Designed by San Diego-based Mascari Warner Architects, the facility will provide adult and pediatric primary care physician services, urgent care, radiology services and outpatient diagnostic testing as well as specialty services and programs, such as health education and prevention classes. Built in a prime location near the corner of 13th and Main Streets, the clinic, which will be co-owned by Palomar Health and developer Pacific Medical Buildings, will welcome Arch Health Partners, an affiliated physician organization of Palomar Health, as its exclusive tenant.

“We’re very excited to unveil the new Ramona Ambulatory Care Center and the various services it has to offer to the Ramona community,” said Michael Shanahan, director of Palomar Health facilities planning. “Additionally, with a total of three available acres near the new site, we look forward to the possibilities of future expansion.”

The urgent care facility, which is situated across from the C.W. Driver-built Ramona Library and the future Ramona Intergenerational Community Campus, features a cement plaster exterior along with high ceilings that include the use of exposed beams in the building’s lobby.

“As with all our projects, construction was carefully completed in midst of the operating facilities nearby,” explained Richard Freeark, vice president of operations for C.W. Driver in San Diego. “We are pleased to have delivered a much-needed facility that will serve the community’s healthcare needs for years to come.”

The Ramona Ambulatory Care Center joins a number of C.W. Driver-built medical office buildings including the 75,000-square-foot east campus office building on the University of California, San Diego campus, which opened in the Fall of 2011 and tenant improvement work for an existing 15,500-square-foot medical office building for Kaiser Permanente in Indio, Calif.
