-- "Killers" is an intense and surreal experience, written for the stage by John Olive. It's pulp noir style was originally produced at Steppenwolf Theatre of Chicago, IL. The story details a writer holed up in a run down boarding house immersed with seedy and often dangerous inhabitants. At times, these outrageous characters appear to threaten the very seams of reality itself.
Although filled with humor, both quirky and dark, the show has been cited as not for the faint of heart!
It is definitely geared towards a mature audience complete with adult themes, language, and violence. The cast includes local stage veterans Jason Clark as Blackwell, Laura Jansen as the Landlady, Mark Ketner as Earl, newcomer Andrew Parrish as Lou, and Jerod Howard as the Husband.
Directed by Shawn Fitzgerald, “Killers” takes one intense turn after another providing a night of theatre out of the ordinary. Opening April 5th through the 20th at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts. For tickets and more info, please call 847-360-4740.
