Native Americans: The Original Fashion Designers

Feb. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- When Victoria’s Secret had to apologize to the indigenous community for not honoring the significance of a Chief's headdress on the runway last year in New York, LA’s award-winning eco-conscious designer Aros Crystos decided this can be corrected. Crystos seeks to honor the First Nation People’s traditions and indigenous heritage at this March’s Fashion Week LA "California Dreaming" event where he will showcase some of the most beautiful First Nation models and Actresses/Actors in the world, wearing inspirations from the "original fashion designers" of the Americas.

This year’s California Dreaming Showcase during March 2013’s Fashion Week LA will feature 6 designers, presenting California-inspired themes from beachwear to the Red Carpet. Aros recognizes original tribal fashions, seeing true fashion is not a commercial product--it is the art of the soul.  Like the first Californians, Aros’s designs this year are inspired by the spirit and the sacredness of all life. Accomplished First Nation actors and models collaborating on this awareness-raising collection include Q'Orianka Kilcher (The New World), Saginaw Grant, (The Lone Ranger) and Rick Mora (Twilight).
