Christopher Guy Appoints Paul Watson to Executive Committee
Paul Watson will join Christopher Guy Executive Committee March 1, 2013
“I am absolutely delighted to have Paul on board, he is a gentleman and an outstanding business leader whose professionalism is beyond compare,” said Christopher Guy Harrison. “There has been tremendous growth at Christopher Guy over the past eight years, with Luci Cremin at the heart of this expansion. This is just the start of what we have planned for 2013 and 2014. In May we inaugurate our new HQ and 20,000’ showroom at the NYDC, that includes a fabulous new collection and a state-of-the art website. Paul will assume the presidency of CG America operations at the most opportune of times, and I cannot think of a more respected appointee in our industry to take over this challenging position. The knowledge, dedication and skill that Luci has used to build the global operations will not be lost. Instead this will be transferred to a senior executive business development position within the CG international group to develop and launch a revolutionary new concept and company during the first quarter of 2014. I am truly honored to have Luci and Paul committed to their new roles within the CG Group. “
As the Vice President of Design, IMC, Paul Watson oversaw the management and leasing for the Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center, the 40-plus showroom venue that is open to both the public and the trade. Under Watson’s leadership, 2012 was a banner year for LVDC. Four powerhouse brands within the design industry opened showrooms within LVDC including Christopher Guy, Stanley Furniture, Julian Chichester/Mr. Brown and Norwalk Furniture.
Paul Watson, who joined World Market Center Las Vegas in 2008 as director of leasing, has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry. He held executive-leasing positions with a number of leading wholesale merchandise marts and design centers, including Pacific Design Center, Miromar Design Center and L.A. Mart. Watson has helped to create the “Decorative Arts District” in downtown Los Angeles with the office of the city and the mayor. He has been recognized and published in Metropolitan Home, Classic American Home, Palm Springs Life and Los Angeles Times and featured on HGTV, Style Network, and Beverly Hills 90210/Greyston Mansion Design Showcase. Paul obtained a Bachelor and Master of Architecture Degrees from Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana.
