Hennessy River View Ford Contributes Classic Sports Cars to 2013 Chicago Auto Show

Feb. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- John Hennessy, owner of River View Ford in Oswego, recently contributed two classic roadsters to be part of a display at the recent 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Mr. Hennessy lent a classic 1965 Mustang Convertible and a 1993 SVT Mustang to the show from his own personal collection. This incredibly generous action proved to be a special treat for Mustang and other sports car fans alike at the convention.

The 1965 Mustang Convertible was especially important because it marked the year the nameplate debuted. It also gave birth to a new group of vehicles, the pony car, a class defined by a compact body with a high performance drivetrain. Over time, the Mustang evolved into a muscle car but kept the spirit of its namesake.

The 1993 SVT Mustang marked the beginning of the SVT performance line and holds a special place in the heart of many Mustang fans. Having debuted at the Chicago Auto Show in 1992, it is fitting that the SVT Mustang returns more than twenty years later. To receive the performance designation, the SVT was equipped with a tougher V8 than other Ford models, as well as an upgraded suspension, transmission, and rear disc brakes.

John Hennessy is pleased to continue to carry the classic Mustang name. The 2013 Ford Mustang comes in a wide range of power options, depending on the driver's preferences. V6 models have a power rating of 305hp while still achieving an estimated fuel economy of 31mpg. 5.0L V8 models can get an incredible 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Six-speed transmissions come in either manual or a SelectShift automatic.
