North Miami Beach Optimist Club, David L. Singer Memorial Fund Will Host The Special Olympics Mia

Feb. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- The North Miami Beach Optimist Club, David L. Singer Memorial Fund Will Host The Special Olympics Miami Dade County Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 8am-2pm at Traz Powell Stadium at Miami Dade College North Campus

(Miami-FL)-The North Miami Beach Optimist Club, David L. Singer Memorial Fund will host the Special Olympics Miami Dade County qualifying  Track and Field Completion on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 8am-2pm at Traz Powell Stadium at Miami Dade College North Campus( NW 27th Ave and NW 114 Street, Miami Gardens. This family event will feature an Olympic Village that will provide a carnival atmosphere with music, entertainment, activities and food. The Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders, the University of Miami Cheerleaders, the Miami Heat Dancers and other local celebrities will also lend their support for this amazing event.

Competitors participate in standing and running long jump, softball throw, shot put, wheelchair events and high jump. Some of these outstanding athletes will qualify to participate in state-wide games this summer.  Volunteers, ages 13 and older are need to accompany the special athletes to various events, cheer them on and serve as their companions during the games.
