-- Fairview Microwave is announcing an offering of a new product: 2.92 40 ghz couplers. Couplers are needed when trying to separate a signal or the instance when you need to combine two signals. The 2.92 is typically a high precision connector used in many test applications and high frequency applications. The 2.92 interface is structured very similar to the SMA but is intended for much higher frequencies as the SMA is limited to 18 ghz, 27 ghz when modified. 2.92 connectors can be mated with SMA's as long you're careful, paying much attention to alignment when mating.
The frequency range of Fairview Microwave's 2.92 coupler is 6 to 40 ghz. It has an average power handlng of 5 watts. The VSWR of the coupler is 2.5 to 1 while the insertion loss is at 1.5 dB max. VSWR performance tends to degrade when working in higher frequency and broadband ranges. The directivity of the coupler is 10 dB min and the connectors on the coupler are passivated stainless steel. Directivity refers to the comparison of coupling in one direction as to the other direction. The contacts are Beryllium Copper and the plating for the contacts are gold. This coupler comes with 10 and 20 dB options, contact Fairview Microwave for custom requirements.
