Coastline Ambulance Services to provide emergency backup for "Peak the Plaza" Fundraiser

Feb. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Coastline Ambulance Services of East Providence, RI, a division of the Dartmouth, MA company Stat-Southcoast EMS, has been selected to provide the emergency medical  services for a major fundraising event to take place in Providence, RI on February 23.

Coastline will provide the crews for the volunteers who will participate in the “Peak the Plaza” stair climb that takes place February 23 at One Financial Plaza in Providence. This stair Climb is a unique event testing ones physical strength, stamina and lung power. On February 23, hundreds of people will take to the inside staircase of the One Financial Plaza building in Providence. In 20 second intervals, participants will race the clock and climb to the top, the 29th floor. Participants vary in athletic ability and can climb as fast or as slow as they want. The stair climb event is a great team building activity for corporate teams, a great way to get in shape for the New Year and an opportunity for a family wanting to honor a loved one who has been affected by lung disease.

While the stair climb is a race, it is also a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. Coastline will have two ALS (Advanced Life Support) crews on hand, to take of anyone who gets injured or needs medical assistance. One crew will be on the 15th floor, the midway point of the climb, and one on the 29th floor.

In the morning, the climbing will consist largely of “civilians,” people from different hospitals who are fundraising for the American Lung Association. In the late morning/early afternoon, numerous Fire Departments will participate in the event.

An after party At Ri Ra's Irish Pub is being hosted immediately after the climb where food and drinks can be purchased. There, racing and fundraising awards will be presented to top individuals and teams. Ri Ra is located at 50 Exchange Terrace in Providence.
