Music of Brian Wilson, Beach Boys, & Friends Featured in 7-Hour Internet Radio Marathon This Weekend
"Wilson Beach Radio" marathon airs Saturday, February 23, spotlights music of the Beach Boys and related artists
Hosted and produced by Jeff Bleiel, this weekly one-hour show spotlights music by the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, and numerous friends and associates of the group. Covers of Beach Boys songs, and songs by artists influenced by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys are also featured.
Beginning at 6 am EST on Saturday, February 23, the “Wilson Beach Radio” marathon will include six past episodes of the program, and the Noon EST debut of a new special episode focusing on the “Songs of Pet Sounds.”
Artists featured throughout the seven hours will include: The Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, David Marks, Jan & Dean, Wilson Phillips, The Honeys, Glen Campbell, Captain & Tennille, Jeffrey Foskett, The Wondermints, Dino Desi & Billy, The Ramones, The Association, Fleetwood Mac, The Rip Chords, Annette Funicello, Nelson Bragg, Eric Carmen, Art Garfunkel, and Olivia Newton-John.
“Wilson Beach Radio” which debuted in November 2012, airs four times every weekend on Hits of Yesteryear Radio – Saturday at Noon, Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at Noon, and Sunday at 7 p.m. (all times Eastern). Host and producer Jeff Bleiel is co-editor of the book "Add Some Music To Your Day: Analyzing and Enjoying the Music of the Beach Boys," and was on-air host and program director for the 24/7 streaming internet station “Wired For Sound Radio,” which ran from May-September 2012.
