Ashworth College Employs Social Media Techniques for its Technology Programs Group
Ashworth College utilizes social media to spread the word about our technology programs group. Stay up to date on the latest information technology news, jobs, trends and more by connecting with others in our online group.
Ashworth’s nationally accredited online computer programs are among its most popular including its professional computer networking course, web design course and computer information systems associate degree program. The Information Technology Group currently serves nearly 2,000 members (August 2012) and the group is part of the nearly 130,000 that comprise the online Ashworth Community.
“Job in information technology, like those in many career fields, can vary by occupation, experience and training,” said Ryan Rode, Interactive Services Manager for Ashworth College. “Not all IT workers need a bachelor’s degree however having relevant career training is a great way to get your foot in the door. Ashworth’s accredited programs and Information Technology Community Group are ways to get the right skills and build a professional networking support system.”

IT workers are needed in nearly all types of organizations, from retail establishments to manufacturing plants. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in combined IT occupations is expected to increase by more than 800,000 jobs through 2016. This increase represents expected job growth of 24% — compared to 10% growth among many other occupations.
