Delray Beach Man's Unique Journey and Ageless Inspiration
21-Year-Old CNA at Abbey Delray Authors Book, Touches Lives of Older Adults and School Kids
“I want to help people grow and give them the power to overcome fears and achieve the things they want to in life,” Edmond says. “A lot of my passion comes from my past.”
Many may find it hard to believe a 21-year-old has authored a book on leadership, fearlessness and motivation, and he’s now working on a second book.
“We noticed early on that Dadma is a special person with a unique gift,” says Shawn Perrigo, executive director of Abbey Delray. “He has incredible energy, big ideas and aspirations, and he provides a lift for residents and my colleagues that makes it a better place for everyone.”
Abbey Delray recently supported Edmond as he attended a national leadership training program and a seminar on life coaching and motivational speaking.
“I believe one of the most important things is to invest in your tongue, because words are so powerful,” Edmond says. “You can change outlooks, attitudes and people’s lives.”
Edmond always dreamed of working in the medical field and says nursing is a great outlet to satisfy his love for helping people. Residents at Abbey Delray say it’s not only his words, but his actions that help them continue pursuing what’s important to them in life. Dadma’s colleagues say they’re inspired by all that he’s accomplished at his age, and how he goes above and beyond to help people.
“Within 30 seconds of meeting him, you can just tell he’s a rare individual and someone who’s determined to do great things,” Perrigo says. “He’s an outstanding member of the Abbey Delray team and a big asset to the greater community as a whole.”
