Life Changing Events For Children With Special Needs & Community Volunteers in NJ, NY, & CA

Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Best Day Foundation is pleased to announce that 2012 was a record setting year for its programs in New Jersey, New York, and California.

Best Day grew served 737 children with special needs in 22 beach and snow events in 2012. These events also generated 13,008 community service hours from 1,734 volunteers of all ages, valued at over $322,525 according to the Independent Sector’s 2011 report on the value of volunteer time. Additionally they provided 2,948 precious hours of caregiver respite.

"Best Day has accomplished so much and is making a difference in the lives of these special children," said Nancy Hamilton, Program Officer at the Community Foundation of New Jersey, a generous Best Day NJ supporter in 2012. "Congratulations on a great season."

Post event surveys show that over 90% of parents felt their child might be able to do things they never thought possible. And more than 95% of volunteers felt more connected with their community, while 100% felt they had a better understanding of children with special needs.
