Feb. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Food and wine pairing website, EasyFoodandWine.com, reports that lobster is the most popular item for recipes on Valentine’s Day. This insight is based on a 250% increase in pageviews for lobster recipes on the Valentine’s Day holiday, this past February 14, 2013.

“Valentine’s Day is a day to indulge your loved with one with something special,” said Mike, co-founder of EasyFoodandWine.com. “Lobster is an indulgent ingredient that most of us save for special occasions, and this data shows its popularity for the Valentine’s holiday.”

The Easy Food & Wine recipe collection features two lobster recipes each paired with wine: Lobster Macaroni & Cheese, which can be found here - http://www.easyfoodandwine.com/Lobster-Macaroni-and-Cheese-Recipe.html, as well as a recipe for Lobster Tacos with Fresh Corn & Cilantro Sauce. On February 14th, pageviews to these recipes increased 250% over their traffic levels since the start of the year, pushing these recipes up to the first and third most popular recipes on that day respectively.

“These two lobster recipes are normally popular but Valentine’s took them from two of the top ten most popular recipes of the site to two of the top three for that day,” added Amy, Mike’s wife and co-founder of EasyFoodandWine.com. “Lobster as an ingredient just has a certain cache and allure that’s fitting for Valentine’s – and these two recipes are both great ways to highlight it.”

Amy and Mike Kass, a husband and wife, founded EasyFoodandWine.com in 2008 to provide simple, easy-to-make recipes paired with wines that any home cook or enthusiast could prepare and enjoy. Mike is the family’s ‘chef’ and designs each of the site’s recipes, and Amy is the ‘wine expert’ and chooses the wine pairings for each recipe. Each recipe is paired with two wines – a more affordable ‘Steal’ wine (under $15) and a pricier ‘Splurge’ selection.

New recipes and articles are added several times a month. Readers who would like to receive new postings as they can come out can sign up for the EasyFoodandWine.com newsletter at the site, or can follow the site on Twitter at @easyfoodandwine or on Facebook.
