Financial Planning Association of New Jersey holds annual Celebration Event

The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey (FPANJ) awards annual honors to its members at annual event.
Feb. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- On February 7, 2013, the membership convened at its annual event to celebrate those members who have provided exemplary service by their involvement in the Association’s activities and community events dedicated to financial literacy.  Awards presented that evening:

2013 Heart of Financial Planning Award: Joseph D. Leone, CFP®, CPA, CLU & Kenneth B. Shapiro, CPA/PFS, CFP®.    These members possess high levels of integrity and ethics, dedicated towards serving clients and furthering the Financial Planning Profession.  Mr. Leone passed away in November 2012 and his family accepted his award posthumously.  He was with the firm The Pinnacle Benefits Group based in Manasquan, New Jersey.   Mr. Shapiro is a planner with Shapiro Financial Security Group in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Both Mr. Leone and Mr. Shapiro will automatically be nominated for a national award with Financial Planning Association when they convene for their annual national conference in October 2013.

2013 Member of the Year Award:  Reginald W. Burroughs CFP®.  This award is given to the most active member in the FPANJ as demonstrated through active involvement and event attendance.  Mr. Burroughs is Executive Vice President with Mercadien Asset Management in Hamilton, New Jersey.

2013 Members' Choice Award: Nina M. Benton CFP® CLU ChFC CLTC.  Ms. Benton was voted by the Members of the FPANJ for overall impact and enthusiasm for the FPANJ & the Financial Planning Profession. She possesses a dedication for involvement in the FPANJ as well as motivating others to act and participate in the Chapter.  Ms. Benton is with the firm New Providence Financial LLC in Edison, New Jersey.

2013 Rookie of the Year Award: Diane Masucci & Nicholas J. Scheibner.  This is awarded to Ms. Masucci and Mr. Scheibner for overall impact and enthusiasm for the FPANJ & the Financial Planning Profession.  They are both first year members of the FPANJ who made the biggest impact on the FPANJ.  Ms. Masucci is with American Financial Resources in Parsippany, NJ. Mr. Scheibner is a financial planner with Baron Financial Group in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
