In wake of World Tourism Day, there were celebrations in bounty that made the World Tourism Day special. It raised the awareness about tourism at global scale. As per the theme, the current year is celebrated with "Tourism - Linking Cultures." As this day is marked with magnificence, there is no dearth of agencies involved in it with the centre for tourism studies as well, which is managed by the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
There was 'Heritage Walk' that was organized in the city for generating awareness pertaining to heritage properties. People from all walks of life participated in it beginning from Ramlila Maidan and concluding at Hawa Mahal. The noteworthy constituent remained that the city was decorated especially engraining its great monuments. There was no dearth of monuments being decorated with the best possible means that also involved cultural programmes and shows. It involved various parts of the city as well thus engulfing the whole of it in celebrations.
In fact, as we know that the state is recognized for the forts and havelis, it is always customary to decorate them when it comes to preserve them. The havelis in the Shekhawati region are however in bad shape towards which the attention must be given. People must realize the importance of such kind of havelis that once destroyed and cannot be restored.
Taking into consideration the statistics into account, as per the State Tourism Department revelations, the number of foreign tourists during the past four months stood at 2,13,015. The number of domestic tourists stood at 5,46,997. With the beginning of festive season, the expectation of the tourists is much higher and stronger.
