By: Woofie's, LLC Professional Pet Sitters Week, March 3-9, 2013 ASHBURN, VA. – February 14, 2013 Woofie’s, a leading pet care services company based in Ashburn, is commemorating Professional Pet Sitters Week by donating 10% of all profits received during Professional Pet Sitters Week to the Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) in Loudoun County. Professional Pet Sitters Week (PPSW) was introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995. PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters. PSI members since 2004, Woofie’s co-owners and Ashburn neighbors Leslie Barron and Amy Reed are looking forward to celebrating the week by giving back to the community that has been so supportive of their business and educating pet owners about the advantages of in-home pet care. What began eight years ago as a pet sitting and dog walking business with just the two Ashburn neighbors has grown into a thriving, full-service pet care company, employing 50+ residents in the Loudoun County area. Loyal clients trust in and rely on Woofie’s to care for their beloved pets in their absence; they provide regular pet sitting visits, overnight care, mid-day dog walking visits and pet taxi services 7 days a week for almost 2000+ clients in the Ashburn and Lansdowne area. In 2011, they also added Mobile Pet Spa services to their offering and now have 2 state-of-the- There are now more households with dogs (43 million) than children (38 million); and the need for pet-care services is at an all-time high. “Professional pet sitting has become an important service industry in the past 15 years. Many professional pet sitters put in long hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year, so they can provide personal in-home care for pets of all kinds,” says Patti Moran, president of PSI. “The tireless efforts of these small business owners and their staffs to provide optimal care to pets and their owners truly deserve recognition.” For pet owners, in-home pet sitting provides a unique alternative to boarding facilities or having to rely on family and neighbors to check in on their pets. Pet sitting goes beyond simply feeding and caring for pets. “I absolutely love Woofie’s – they are like a part of my family. I use them for mid-day walks during the week, vacation and overnight care, and for baths in the Mobile Pet spa. They make life easier, they make me a better pet parent and I have complete faith and trust in the care they provide my 2 boys!” said Brambleton resident and long-time Woofie’s client Tracey Holupka. Woofie’s reputation for professionalism, reliability and personalized customer care earned them the award of Best Pet Care Company in 2011 from Northern Virginia Magazine and Washingtonian Magazine included them on their Best Pet Care List in 2011. They have also been featured on NBC News 4 and Fox 5 News. Woofie’ “Woofie’s continually strives to provide the best quality service to our clients and employ top-notch pet sitters. We are excited to celebrate this week that recognizes the pet-sitting industry on a global scale,” says Leslie Barron.
