-- Fashion week in Indonesia, is the first fashion event that combines the traditional fashion shows with the exhibitions. So this event is not restricted to extravagant fashion shows, but it organizes a real fashion exhibit.
This event brings together all the important fashion elements: academic institutions, fashion businesses and even the government. Istituto di Moda Burgo in Indonesia, supported in this project by the Italian Embassy, is one of the major sponsor and supporter of this important event.
Istituto di Moda Burgo (IMB) Indonesia (www.imbindonesia.com
, was founded by Jenny Yohana Kansil, an IMB student, (www.imb.it
on the 1st of August 2011 in Jakarta.
The rapid fashion development in Indonesia shows that, in the future, Indonesia will have the opportunity to become the new International Fashion destination. That's why Jakarta, is the first city in South East Asia in which we can see held for the second year, one of the most important fashion events in the world. Since 2 years IMB in Indonesia has a purpose: make sure that Jakarta will become not just a business city, but a world benchmark in which all those who wish to enter on the fashion world, can be found here all the necessary elements. Fashion Week 2013 therefore represents a further growth for Jakarta and also for IMB Indonesia, which is a supporter of this event, and both a symbol of the growth of local fashion.
