Midmarket Institute’s CEO Takes the Train

Feb. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Princeton, NJ - Ram Iyer, Founder and CEO of The Midmarket Institute took the train from Newark to Washington, last week.  He wasn’t alone.  With him were NJ Senator Frank Lautenberg and NJ State Assembly Speaker Shelly and Deputy Speaker  Assemblyman Upendra J. Chivukula and Congressman Frank Pallone with whom he spoke about his new initiative, Expand Across America.

The grassroots program is created to stir up recognition and support for considering America as a great and obvious choice for companies seeking to expand their revenues.  Iyer also spoke with them and others about the American Midmarket; the often neglected midsize companies (only 3% of all companies) that are responsible for one third of national GDP and one third of all private sector jobs in the US.

According to Iyer, “It was a great opportunity to connect with ‘Who’s Who’ of the New Jersey business community and the civic officials who support them, all in one place.  The train and the evening dinner provided captive locations to discuss matters of interest to businesses.”

For the past 75 years, New Jersey Chamber of Commerce members have boarded a special Amtrak charter train and traveled to the nation's Capital to discuss with the state's top political leadership how to make New Jersey a better place to do business.

This year’s “Walk to Washington” event – as it is also called - included a dinner in Washington, D.C. featuring NJ Governor Chris Christie, as the keynote speaker, the two US senators and all Congressmen from New Jersey, and many members of the New Jersey Senate and Assembly.
