Feb. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Brooklyn, NY – The Indigo Hippie CO (iHC) is hosting their brunch series, the Bed Stuy Brunch Club (BSBC) with partner Mobile Apps Brooklyn (MABK). BSBC sets out on its second voyage on February 17th at the intimate event space For My Sweet Garden located at 1103 Fulton Street in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn.  The hosts have invited the crème de la crème of the Brooklyn creative community to fellowship, eat and network on the engrossing topic of Healthy Eating Options. This topic will be served as an aperitif to the screening of Soul Food Junkies, an award-winning documentary by filmmaker Byron Hurt that explores the health advantages and disadvantages of soul food. An invitation to sponsor a screening for this intriguing film came from the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation’s Community Transformation Grant office which iHC and MABK happily accepted.  Serving as an initiative of the Partnership for a Healthier NYC, the intended outcome of this dialogue after the screening is to identify ways that we can make environmental and systematic changes that will improve health outcomes in our communities.

The brunch menu fares plans to tantalize each attendee’s palates through providing cuisines varying from West Indian to Healthy Soul Food to French Caribbean. The energetic and smooth sound of a live band will top off the meal during the run of Bed Stuy Brunch Club.

BSBC will not only be a great time to be had but also offer a way for attendees to give back to the community. Each BSBC sets aside a portion of its proceeds to benefit a worthy cause. The cause at hand will be for the Second Annual Spring Bike Tune Up (April 2013), an upcoming bike donation initiative for needy children in Brooklyn that will provide bikes, safety clinics, self-maintenance tips and live performances by indie performers to the borough we love!
