Entertainer Richard Skipper to Guest on The Jimmy Star Show Wednesday February 20th, 2013

Feb. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Richard Skipper  will be a featured guest on The Jimmy Star Show live radio show hosted by King of Cool, Jimmy Star along with Cool Man About Town Ron Russell to discuss his career, Carol Channing and Call On Dolly.  The Jimmy Star Show is radio's newest hit show, featuring the coolest in music, entertainment, fashion and pop culture, all from a fun industry insider perspective in a completely live, unedited fast-paced two-hour conversational format.

Richard Skipper is a popular award winning and critically acclaimed entertainer, theater historian and pop culture blogger. He has conducted over 600 interviews for his daily blog celebrating people in the arts. Call on Dolly is based on his website chronicling the Broadway classic. He has covered several opening nights as the voice of Feinstein’s at Loews Regency over the past year with a weekly “chat” on Elliot Ames’ radio program on WVOX in NYC.  He has conducted on-stage interviews at Barnes & Noble with Carol Channing, Ron Young and Peggy Pope.

Richard was the associate producer of the 2010, 2012, 2013 Bistro Awards celebrating excellence in cabaret and New York nightlife.  Peggy Herman’s CD Release Party at Feinstein’s was produced by Skipper, directed by Peter Glebo and Tommy Tune, and it was an SRO success and he also promoted jazz singer Pamela Luss’ run at The Metropolitan Room, NYC.

Richard can be seen in Dori Berenstein's award winning documentary, Carol Channing: Larger than Life. Other highlights include a Theatre Wing tribute to Carol Channing, Tommy Tune and James Earl Jones; benefit performances with special guest star Neil Sedaka!  Richard has appeared on board WindStar Cruise Lines from Rome to Athens, and several return engagements in celebration of Carol Channing's birthdays at Washington DC's National Theater where Hello, Dolly took shape.

He has appeared at Carnegie Hall with Sam Harris and The New York City Gay Men's Chorus, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and an appearance with Carol Channing and the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus at the Palace Of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

Richard had long-running engagements at Trump's Taj Mahal, The Hilton in Atlantic City, Caesar's Casino Windsor in Windsor, Ontario and The Windsor Hilton.
