Follow on Google News | Immigration reform to be discussed at Las Vegas legal group luncheonThe Las Vegas Chapter of The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies will host a luncheon on immigration reform on Friday, March 8, entitled “Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution” with author Clint Bolick.
By: Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Studie In his new book co-authored with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Bolick calls for a complete overhaul of America's 60-year old immigration laws. Arguing that the best way to curb illegal immigration is to create a well-functioning legal immigration system, Bolick calls for increased numbers of work-based visas and an end to the "chain migration" that dominates legal immigration. He also offers proposals for the millions of illegal immigrants currently in the country and the children they brought with them. Finally, Bush and Bolick urge Republicans to take aggressive steps to solve their problems with immigrant voters. Published by Simon & Schuster, his book, “Immigration Wars,” will hit store shelves on March 5, and Bolick will speak to the Las Vegas Chapter of the Federalist Society just days after its debut. The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of the legal order. It is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be. The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities. For more information: End
