Honda is Ranked as One of the Top 3 Auto Brands in a Survey by Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports has recently conducted a survey in which they ranked automakers based on brand perception; the list this year is for the most part unchanged from last year’s report, and indicates that Honda has continued to make reliable and desirable vehicles.

The rankings are created through a random sampling of consumers that accurately represents the national opinion. Automakers are ranked on quality, safety, value, design or style, technology or innovation, environmental friendliness, and performance. These scores do not reflect any testing or opinion of Consumer Reports; rather, this is testing done in the real world by real people who have put thousands of miles on their cars.

Consumer Reports also puts out reliability scores on the automotive industry. While not all cars in the perception rankings match up with their reliability score, Honda was still ranked among the top five. Honda also cracked the top spots in both purchase intent and brand loyalty — Consumer Reports found that 56% of current Honda drivers would likely buy another Honda when it was time to replace their current vehicle.

Consumer Reports also recently praised the new 2013 Honda Accord (http://www.motorwerkshonda.com/new-inventory/index.htm?mo...), saying that the vehicle “now tops its class, edging out the Hyundai Sonata and Camry, while the V6 model is challenging the Camry Hybrid and V6 Camry for the top spot in Consumer Reports ratings.”

Consumer Reports is the largest independent product testing and rating nonprofit organization in the world. It was founded in 1936, and currently has over 8 million subscribers to its website and magazine.  Consumer Reports also maintains a consumer advocacy organization called Consumers Union, which works for health reform, food and safety reform, and other causes.
